Europe adventure. Day 1 of 34. Part 1.

Written on the plane to Dublin.

The sun is shining through the windows, yet our clocks say it is midnight. I am dreading the jetlag when I arrive, drinking a glass of white wine and hoping it will help me get some sleep. I need to be awake to absorb everything that is Ireland. I am so excited (but also nervous) about exploring a new continent on my own. There are so many things that could go wrong and also so many amazing things I am going to experience.

After years of planning, over-preparing, making countless lists, I swear I forgot something. What if I packed the wrong clothes? What if these boots give me blisters? What if I should have brought a backpack and not this wheeled carry on bag? Should I have bought one of those silly hidden money purses? No, don't answer that. The answer is no. I don't need any of that. I'll be fine. I have everything I need I'm my little bag, music in my ears and just the right amount of plans for when my feet hit European ground. Which is not many at all.

Now they're bringing me a nice gluten free meal and the sun is finally starting to go down, so I have to go.

To everyone back in the US, I'm going to miss you guys. Especially my family and my overly large teddy bear (I'm sorry you didn't fit in my carry on bag). I love you all. Hugs.
